Status Update, New Website Launching, New PC Since My Previous Is Old (10+), Live Stream Coming Back + with a new UI.

Status Update
Hello Everyone, it’s been awhile, and I know I am overdue with the status update, I’ve already mentioned it a bit in my twitter social feed before, but early this year, some personal stuff happen (like losing 2 relatives in a short span of time), but everything’s been okay now, and I’ve been doing well. So I apologize for the lack of public activity.

I feel excited to do more artworks posts again, and other stuff going forward! Now to the exciting new stuff.

New Website Launching
[
gofelem.com ]

I made a new website from scratch and I hope it’ll be to your liking! This website features and focuses more on the artwork, dynamic, and more Centralized.

By centralized, I mean something like when I make a post in this patreon, it automatically gets mirrored to the ‘recent posts’ in the website, meaning you can check patreon or the website for posts which will have the same content, it also makes it easier for me to post update. As for comment/discussion, it’ll just be on the patreon post so it’ll also be centralized.

While primarily made with lighter scheme, I also added a simple ‘Dark Mode’ for those who prefer darker theme (bottom left of screen will have that toggle).

Aside from my personal artworks, I also included dedicated section (and gallery) for the commissioned artwork.

I have also added a Bluesky feed in the front page. Previous website had twitter, but it was no longer possible after it became x.

I’ve also added a twitch status in the front page so you can know if I am online/livestreaming on twitch (Desktop only).

The “Projects Page” will be coming soon. Still thinking about how to handle it, although it might end up being dedicated to “Draknier Story” or something *laughs*.

I’ve also expanded the “About Me” section if you want to personally know a little more about me (or just me geeking about the games and stuff I love *laughs*.

As for the Shop, I went with switchable tabs for easier navigation.

For the update frequency of the gallery, it’ll be too hard to do it weekly, so probably once every 1-3 months (Although I might do it from time to time too).

Some challenges I faced while working on the website is, there are situations where a dynamic page appears with some difference in layout/css (such as margins, spacing, & etc.) even if pages are both identical, this required a lot of meticulous tracking and fixing, took a lot of time. Reminds me of when I sometimes I deal with game engines and things doesn’t work as straight forward (like with importing assets and stuff). There are also limitations to some features, so finding work-around take more time. Lastly, making it responsive (like how it looks on Tablet and Mobile)

At the end of the day, I think it’s worth the trouble once I finally finished it. The website barely had any budget, so being able to get this far already makes me happy. If there are still some issues that may came up, that may be fixed at some point.

Extra Note: I actually ended up making 2 websites, the 1st one was more simplified version of previous one with updated gallery (utilizing carrd), but encountered an issue as I was around 80-85% of finishing it, it has something to do with cloudflare error not working in my country (carrd was pretty much inaccessible for quite some time), but after pondering about it, that’s also when decided to just do it again in wordpress and go a step further with its features.

I finally built a new PC!

Now I don’t have to worry with my old PC dying, it’s already more than 10+ years old, probably 12 to 13. It’s still fine, but I can already feel a lot of limitations such as software support/incompatibility and performance bottleneck when doing certain activity (e.g. live stream + doing art, there are times it is hard to do since performance hits considering that I draw in a big canvas).

Took me some time to build it since, I keep waiting discounts for the parts *laughs*, so it was a project done over a period of time.

As for the specifications:
Motherboard: MSI PRO Z790-P WIFI DDR4
Processor: Intel i5-14500
GPU: Nvidia RTX 3060 12gb (Had AMD before w/ low ram, so it is pretty nice, also less compatibility issues with creative software)
Storage: M.2 SSD + Sata SSD + HDD (I actually only find out about M.2 now, was amazed)
Memory: Kingston DDR4-3200 32GB(16×2) (I do feel I need another 32GB at some point since there are times I hit max)
PSU: Seasonic Focus GX-750

The hardest part with having a new PC is transferring my entire workflow, it is not easy, but it can be done although it took me more time. I’ll still be using the old PC (I’m sorry, but you’re note retiring yet *laughs*) when accessing files, gamedev benchmark, and many stuff.

Drawing feels much more better now, So I feel excited to do more artworks, gamedev/engine, and 3d stuff. Haven’t tried 3D sculpting yet, but I want to give it a try! I’ll also be able to play some more modern titles like FF16, so it’s pretty nice. But I have more classic/retro and switch games (like old FE games, PS2 titles, Astral Chain, FF6, Tokyo Mirage, XCX & etc.) to play first *laugh*.

Live Stream is Coming Back + with a new UI

I have also worked on a new UI layout for the twitch stream! I hope it’ll improve your experience (apologize for the long wait). I’ve also integrated some new stuff like those the bot and command stuff. There are more things I want to continue working on for the twitch, I’Il probably do some of those live. Aside from personal art, I’ll probably do work on some commission live (I’ll just put it in the title in the video, so when a live notification goes, if the commissioner doesn’t want to see it unfinished, the spoiler can be avoided by seeing the title*laughs*).

As for the frequency of the live, before I usually do it around every saturday/sunday if I can, but this time, probably more frequent, but can also be impromptu. As for the type of content I’ll stream, aside from creative stuff (like painting, 3d, & gamedev), I’d like to play some games too, but not the type of games I have to locked-in to focus or too story driven, like Fire Emblem Warriors, Hyrule Warriors, fighting games, Pokemon, Monster Hunter, Legend of Legacy, platformers(megaman, sonic, & etc.), pikmin, Mario games (like kart & etc.), metroid prime, or along those lines. Maybe if I ever do a new playthrough (replay), like Xenoblade 2 or something.

So that’ll be the update for today, thank you again for sticking with me all this time, and thanks to those who supported, I can still remain here and continue to do my work as an artist, that I can still hang around here to talk and share the stuff together that we enjoy.

Have a pleasant day or evening!
